Clickable Culture points me to this fantastic project by ARG maestro Jane McGonigal and Kiyash Monsef. In The Latchkey Project, you buy a key which comes with some personalised clues, then try to find the lock that it opens. It reminds me of the Stone, but cooler. Nice!

Liz' Antique Hardware, Los Angeles
Crate full of skeleton keys of all sizes and metals
I had removed the lock from my antique secretary, and brought the lock into Liz' Antique Hardware.
I crouched next to the crate, testing one key after another, until I found a key that fit my lock.
Paid my $10 and went home
Nice place if you have an old house
