Here's a little something arty for your Tuesday afternoon: the Day to Day Data exhibition has just opened in London, and it looks kinda quirky and cool.
Participating artists have critically observed aspects of their everyday lives, collected data and used it as the basis of their installations. Curator Ellie Harrison records her daily minutiae to create a 'daily data display wall', Cleo Broda addresses sentimental hoarding by archiving photos of objects along with their emotional associations, and a particularly entertaining Richard Dedomenici attempts to prove the existence of a protective Nail Salon Belt around Watford:
The theory states that at a certain distance from central London, running the length of the border between the 0207 and the 0208 telephone codes, a much higher than average number of nail salons exist. Richard will present a film showing his progress on the famous walk around the 0207 and 0208 border when the data which lead to his groundbreaking theory was collected. The results will be displayed as a wall-based diagram of the Nail Salon Belt and a text-based report of findings.
Certainly a bit different, and if you're interested, hop on it - the exhibition has a limited run at Danielle Arnaud contemporary art that ends on 23rd April.
